System components and hardware

The central measuring module, the contact module, and a reference for the UMG604 and UMG103-CBM meters.

An Energy Monitoring installation is delivered as two modules, plus the meters and current transformers installed in your distribution board.

Energy Monitoring — central measuring module

  • Enclosure (cabinet)
  • Central energy meter (Power Analyser)

This module measures the total power of the installation.

Energy Monitoring — contact module

  • Enclosure (cabinet)
  • Local data buffer storage
  • Secured network equipment

The contact module stores measurement data locally and provides the secured connection to Cobradash. Two power sockets need to be available for this module.

Measuring the main connection (later expansion)

Measuring the main connection becomes important once batteries, solar panels and EV charging stations are added, because that data is needed to control the new configuration. For that role the Power Analyser itself may not be used, but the voltage and current measurement that has already been installed can be reused.

Hardware reference

Power Analyser (central meter / power analyser)

The Power Analyser is a DIN-rail power analyser. It provides current measurement (I1–I4) and voltage measurement (L1–L4 + N), an RS485 interface for the group meters, an Ethernet option, RS232, and digital I/O. Approximate dimensions: 107 mm wide (≈ 6 DIN modules) × 90 mm × 82 mm deep.

Measurement Device (per-group meter)

A compact DIN-rail meter installed once per measured group. It has three current inputs (S1/S2 for L1, L2, L3) and the C / A / B terminals for the RS485 bus. Approximate dimensions: 71.5 mm wide × 90 mm (98 mm including terminals), 46 mm deep.

Full manufacturer datasheets for the Power Analyser and Measurement Device are available on request — let us know if you need the complete electrical specifications.
